Hong Kong & Macau

Hong Kong never seems to really reveal itself, always being held in a soft smog. After a stormy start we did finally make it to Hong Kong, via Munich and Zurich. On Victoria Peak the size of the city becomes apparent at a glance. Horizontal space is limited and vertical space is the answer, all just next to the sea which is the lifeline on which this vast commercial city is build.

Hong Kong has much to offer, from a glimpse into Chinese culture to enticing foods, horse racing, exotic animals, weird sounds, smells and views. Having been there a week, including a fast visit to Macau, we only got a slight understanding of what Hong Kong has to offer as a whole. The city has an unique identity, mixing the modern with the old fashioned, both in architecture as cultural values.
